TRIP OVERVIEW:

Experience the ultimate East African odyssey on this premium 10-day Kenya photography safari journeying deep into the wild heart of sweeping savannahs. Your adventure opens in vibrant Nairobi before unfolding northward into the raw landscapes of Samburu, continuing to the rhino havens of Lake Nakuru, and building toward the iconic Masai Mara during the Great Migration. Finish with a tranquil boat glide across Lake Naivasha and massive elephant herds in Amboseli beneath the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) early in the morning., our dedicated hotel representative will be waiting to receive you. They will assist with your luggage and escort you to the private transfer vehicle for a short drive to Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport Hotel, where you are booked on a bed and breakfast basis. Once at the hotel, the front desk team will facilitate a swift check-in process, allowing you to settle into your well-appointed room. You can then proceed to the hotel’s restaurant, where a delightful breakfast will be served. After breakfast, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure, allowing you to unwind and recuperate from your journey. You may choose to relax in the comfort of your room, enjoy the hotel’s amenities such as the rooftop pool with stunning airport views, or visit the spa for rejuvenating treatment (available at an additional cost). Lunch and dinner will be at your discretion and can be enjoyed at the hotel’s restaurant, which offers an excellent selection of local and international cuisine. These meals will be payable directly by the guests.

Day 2: Drive from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi early in the morning around 7:00 a.m & drive through the scenic view of Kenyan highlands, changing gradually to a semi-desert region as you cross the equator where you can stop and have a photo shoot before continuing with your drive where you will arrive at Samburu National Reserve, early in the afternoon. Check in at your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch before taking a moment to soak in the stunning surroundings. Later, head out on your first game drive in this 165 sq. km (63 sq. mi) reserve. Samburu’s semi-arid landscape is home to diverse wildlife, with the Ewaso Ng’iro River providing the only permanent water source. Lined with lush riverine forests, the river attracts elephants, lions, and the rare Grevy’s zebra. Beyond, grasslands and woodlands support species uniquely adapted to the dry environment, such as the reticulated giraffe and Beisa oryx. After an afternoon of wildlife encounters, return to your lodge to freshen up before dinner. Day 3: FULL DAY AT SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading out on an exciting morning game drive. As the golden sunrise bathes the landscapes of Samburu, you’ll have the perfect light for capturing breathtaking photographs. The Ewaso Ng’iro River, the lifeline of this arid region, attracts a variety of wildlife, from elephants and lions to rare species like the Grevy’s zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and Reticulated Giraffe. With a bit of luck, you’ll witness these magnificent animals gathering along the riverbanks. After an eventful morning, return to your lodge for a delicious lunch and some downtime. In the late afternoon, set out once more for another game drive, tracking wildlife with your expert safari guide. Day 4: DRIVE FROM SAMBURU TO LAKE NAKURU. (APPX 5 HRS)

After breakfast, bid farewell to Samburu and make your way to Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its incredible birdlife and rhino population. As you approach the park, the scenery transforms from arid landscapes to lush vegetation surrounding the lake. Arriving at your chosen lodge, you’ll check in and enjoy a satisfying lunch that rejuvenates you from the afternoon activities. The afternoon is dedicated to a game drive, where you’ll have the chance to witness the awe-inspiring sight of birdlife on the lake’s shores, as well as spot rhinos, giraffes, and other wildlife against the backdrop of the picturesque lake. Day 6: FULL DAY AT MASAI MARA - THE CLASSIC GAME DRIVE EXPERIENCE

Rise before dawn for your first early morning game drive (6:15 am – 9:00 am), when predators are most active and the golden light paints the landscape. Spot lions returning from their night hunt, elephants in the morning mist, and herds of wildebeest grazing. Return for a hearty breakfast, then relax at camp until your afternoon safari (3:30 pm – 6:30 pm). End the day watching a spectacular sunset over the plains. Dinner is served under a canopy of stars.

Day 7: FULL DAY AT MASAI MARA – CULTURE and ADVENTURE

Following breakfast, it will be time for you to check out of your accommodation in Amboseli and begin your journey to Lake Naivasha, situated on the floors of the Great Rift Valley. The drive to the lake will take approximately four hours, offering picturesque views along the way. Upon arrival, you will promptly check in at your lodge, typically around lunchtime, allowing for a seamless transition. Once you have settled in and enjoyed a satisfying lunch, take a moment to relax before embarking on an exciting afternoon boat safari. This unique experience will provide you with a spectacular opportunity to witness the diverse and captivating birdlife, as well as observe the graceful presence of hippos, all amidst the tranquil ambiance of this freshwater rift valley lake. Following the boat safari, you will proceed to enjoy a guided walking safari at the renowned Crescent Island, further enriching your connection with nature. After early breakfast and check-out of your camp proceed to Amboseli National Park, renowned for its breathtaking scenery adorned with the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro as a picturesque backdrop. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and assisted with the check-in process at your tented camp in Amboseli. Take a moment to savor a delicious lunch and relax briefly. In the afternoon, prepare for an exciting game drive, all while enjoying panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. As the day winds down, indulge in a delectable dinner and spend a peaceful night at your camp, immersing yourself in the tranquil ambiance of Amboseli National Park.

Day 10: FULL DAY AT AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.

Today you have an early rise for your estimated 6.15am Safari game drive during which you will not only have a perfect view of Mt. Kilimanjaro but also see more of the Amboseli’s great wildlife. Return to the Camp for a relaxed breakfast – rest of the morning at leisure. The camp has a swimming pool. After the sumptuous lunch, take a mid-afternoon safari game drive to further explore the park. Return to the camp by evening (typically 6pm) in time for a relaxed evening which may be enlivened by entertainment provided by the camp, followed by dinner.

Day 11: DRIVE FROM AMBOSELI TO NAIROBI THEN TRANSFER TO JKIA AIRPORT

Following breakfast, it will be time for you to check out of your accommodation in Amboseli and exit the Park with game drive en-route to Nairobi. On arrival, proceed to Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Garden for your delectable lunch. After enjoying your lunch, proceed to the adjacent Karen Blixen Museum. This museum was once the center piece of a farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish Husband, Baron Bror von Blixen Fincke. If you loved the movie Out of Africa, you’ll love this museum in the farmhouse where author Karen Blixen lived between 1914 and 1931. She left after a series of personal tragedies, but the lovely colonial house has been preserved as a museum. From the Museum, proceed to the famous Nairobi Giraffe Centre where you’ll get to encounter the endangered Rothschild giraffes and even hand-feed them. Spend about an hour here before proceeding to Carnivore Restaurant for your farewell dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m. The restaurant’s specialty is meat that are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge charcoal pit that dominates the restaurant’s entrance. The rough-hewn beams combine the rustic feel of a rural setting with that of a medieval banqueting hall. The restaurant also has a place for vegetarians who will be well catered for and in an all eat as much as they can set. From Carnivore you’ll be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your homebound flight marking the end of your Kenyan Adventure
